Prayer Must Continue…
It’s hard to imagine, but today marks the end of the first month of the year 2025. For me, it has been an eventful month with a mixture of both blessings and sad moments. Many people typically begin this month with some form of prayer and fasting. With the end of the month most have completed their required time. I contend that whatever you have completed, one thing you must continue, it is to pray…
13-18 Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out. Ephesians 6:13-18 (MSG)
Even the most short-sighted can see that we are living in perilous times. A feeling of uncertainty is in the air, and many are experiencing panic and anxiety over what they fear will happen.
This should not be named among God’s people. Although we may not know enough to forecast the future, we know that the same God who is with us in our present, has already gone before us to our future. We know that His presence knows no time limit, it extends even until the end of the world!
However, He does ask us to pray – to pray even without ceasing. Our prayers indicate our partnership with Him. our prayers acknowledge we want His Lordship to rule and regin over us; that we know we need Him, every hour, every day, throughout our lives. I thus ask you to join the saints all over the world:
Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live. 1 Thessalonians 5:16 (MSG)
