The is The Story I’m Sticking To!

I heard something in my spirit the other day that made me leap:

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

The words leaped out – "the government shall be upon his shoulder". What a promise! Translated for me it gave me hope that the governments that we presently are operating under is not our only hope! As dismal as it may look some days as we seem to be forced to depend upon mere men to lead us through a crisis that the world has never seen before, the spirit of the Lord breathed hope in my heart. Jesus does not make a wrong call, His ways are perfect, His wisdom is sure. As much as it may look like we only have hope in this life only, the Psalmist told us different:

For in thee, O Lord, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.Psalm 38:15 (KJV)

Though the rulers of this age may devise all kinds of plans to control our lives, our hope is in the One who will hear, who can and will bring healing and peace to our troubled world. While it appears that there is a disease running rampant with no end in sight and while it appears as if the result of that will be economic ruin, Isaiah goes on to say:

Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. Isaiah 9:7 (KJV)

This is the hope that I cling to. I refuse to believe that the God who gave us "life and that more abundantly": will return us to caves to live out our days in isolation and economic devastation. Therefore, I choose to cry out to the God of my salvation:

O God, hear my prayer. Listen to my heart’s cry.
2 For no matter where I am, even when I’m far from home,
I will cry out to you for a father’s help.
When I’m feeble and overwhelmed by life,
guide me into your glory, where I am safe and sheltered.
3 Lord, you are a paradise of protection to me.
You lift me high above the fray.
None of my foes can touch me
when I’m held firmly in your wrap-around presence!
4 Keep me in this glory.
Let me live continually under your splendor-shadow,
hiding my life in you forever. Psalm 61: 1-4 (TPT)
